Welcome to The Florida Therapy Center!

The Florida Therapy Center is the only Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility offering Physical, Occupational, Respiratory, and Speech therapy to Brevard County. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in a convenient and comforting outpatient setting. Our purpose is to provide more individualized patient care with expertly trained therapists to alleviate pain, restore function, and help our patients achieve their full physical potential.

Our state-of-the-art facilities

The Florida Therapy Centers are large, open, state-of-the art comprehensive clinics, ADA compliant and complete with lockers and shower facilities. Stringent requirements for Medicare certification and state licensing have been met in order to provide this greater access to high quality rehabilitation services.

The Florida Therapy Center is one of the only practices in Florida to utilize state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment such as the Pneumex Unweighting System, and we feel it is one of the most beneficial and comprehensive equipment pieces we have on-site. The Pneumex unit reduces the amount of weight-bearing through the patient's lower extremities, which greatly assists in the rehabilitation of painful joints and injuries. The client is placed in a comfortable harness that prevents them from falling during all facets of their gait and balance program. Unlike aquatic therapy, the unweighting system allows adjustable degrees of weight bearing. During treatment, the client can be sitting, walking or running on a treadmill, or be involved in balance activities. Unweighting is very effective in treating acute/chronic back pain, gait, balance, and coordination disorders, and transitions the patient into a cardiovascular exercise program without the risk of falling.

Patient Convenience

The Florida Therapy Center is one of the only clinics in Brevard uniquely licensed to combine different therapy disciplines to treat more than one diagnosis at once. This convenience eliminates the need for patients to drive to multiple clinics or experience delays to get the treatments they need. Waiting times are shorter at the Florida Therapy Center and a patient is normally scheduled for therapy within 48 hours of seeing their doctor.

In order to maintain the highest level of care, the Florida Therapy Center employs only licensed and highly experienced Physical, Occupational, Respiratory, and Speech therapists. Your care will not be handed off to aids or techs. In order to maintain continuity of care and promote progress of healing, you will be evaluated and receive care from the same therapist each treatment. This personal attention is critical in assuring that each patient receives the appropriate care in order to achieve excellent results.

Our dedicated team of multidisciplinary specialists includes professional therapists, clinicians and social workers to provide direct patient care. The Florida Therapy Center is required by law to contract the services of local physicians to serve as Medical Directors. The Medical Director reviews practices and procedures, consults with staff, reviews the individual treatment plans, and monitors the progress to ensure patients receive medically necessary rehabilitation services.

Our therapists provide comprehensive treatment for all hand problems or injuries which may include but are not limited to wrist and finger fractures, tendon injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, tenonitis, reflex sympathetic dystrophy and joint replacement.

Speech Therapy

The Florida Therapy Center offers a wide range of rehab services including speech therapy. Speech language pathology services are provided to individuals from infancy through geriatrics. Infants and toddlers may receive speech therapy if they have feeding and swallowing problems, or need assistance developing verbal communication. Preschool children may require some extra help to learn basic skills such as communicating needs and wants. School-age children often go to speech therapy to learn to correct articulation errors and improve language skills. Adults may see a speech therapist if they have voice problems or a brain injury that has affected communication or swallowing. Speech therapists also serve the geriatric population by addressing communication and swallowing difficulties after stroke or other illnesses.

Respiratory Therapy

Our Respiratory Therapy program is ideal for individuals with pulmonary disorders such as emphysema, COPD, and asthma. Our Licensed Respiratory Therapists will take you through a well monitored series of exercises combined with patient education and a home program designed to improve breathing and cardiovascular endurance, restoring function and allowing you to increase your ability to perform normal daily activities.

Grad-Fit Program

All patients that complete their therapy program may chose to join our fitness program in order to independently maintain the level of functioning achieved through rehabilitation, and continue to make progress once therapy services are no longer medically necessary. The Grad-Fit program is month-to-month membership for a reasonable fee similar to a local gym.

Psychological Services

As part of our comprehensive services, the Florida Therapy Center incorporates licensed psychologists, offering a wide range of counseling and psychological services.
